Metro Gallery is a commercial modern art gallery committed to investing in art, showing important works by prominent established and contemporary artists such as John Olsen, Michael Johnson, Criss Canning, Alexander Hoda, Tommy Watson, Anthony Lister, Michael Peck, Mrs Bennett, Swoon, Damien Hirst, Banksy, Hush, D*Face, Stormie Mills and many others.
From its inception, our modern art gallery has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries within the Australian art world and is dedicated to the development of young artists through the annual Metro Art Award.
Operating in an increasingly mobile global environment, Metro Gallery is constantly evolving. Exhibitions by innovative contemporary artists working across a range of different media ensure that the gallery space remains fluid and at the same time visually challenging.

Alex McCulloch
Alex McCulloch is a shareholder of Metro Gallery. He has been a Director since July 2009
Alex McCulloch is a Director and Equity Partner of Metro Gallery. Alex has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne majoring in Art History and Philosophy and has completed a Masters of Art Curatorship thesis from the same institution which focused on the Australian art market. Alex began his career in the art world in 2001 working in various positions including Sotheby’s Auction House and Art Associates Australia. He opened up a commercial gallery in the Melbourne CBD (McCulloch Gallery) in May 2005 and run over 150 exhibitions up to June 2009. Alex took the position as Director and Partner of Metro Gallery in July 2009. Alex is dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of emerging, mid career and established Australian artists.
Flora Southey
Flora Southey has a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Art History and French from the University of Melbourne and went on to do a Master of Art Curatorship, also at Melbourne. In response to her growing interest in Australian Indigenous art, Flora worked at Yuendumu's Warlukurlangu Art Centre in the Northern Territory, before undertaking a master's thesis in contemporary Indigenous sculpture.
Flora has worked in both public and commercial art galleries, and specialises in contemporary Australian and international painting and sculpture.
Art Consultancy Services: Art Valuations and Art Investment
Metro provides an art consultancy service for both corporate and individual collectors. This includes art valuations, Art investment, advice on selling at auction, and liaising with interior designers and architects.
